Day Retreats

This year we hosted two day retreats in Spring. Below is a summary. Photos from this wonderful weekend can be found on facebook.
2023 October Reset Days

Day 1: Saturday 21st October 2023 – 7 Types of Recharge & Creative Cooking: Dressings and Toppings

Day 2: Sunday 22nd October 2023 – Goal Achieving & Creative Cooking: Sweet Hits

Nature. Yoga. Space. Nourishment. Learning.

Rosie Dunstan (Mindset Coach) and I hosted two full days at Lapito House, a beautifully renovated farmhouse set amongst the rolling hills of Myponga on the Fleurieu Peninsula. Each day included:

– Nature & Hiking

– Mindset Workshops by Rosie

– Nutrition Workshops by Lara

– Delicious food

– Yoga & Meditation

Day 1: Saturday Oct 21st, 2023

Nature & Hiking:

One of the simplest gifts we can give ourselves is to spend time in nature. We started our day with morning tea on the beautiful Lapito House deck, followed by a walk through the picturesque postcard worthy rolling hills of Lapito and onto the Heysen Trail.

Nutrition Workshop: Dressings and Toppings

Lara led a fun workshop which focused on tasty and nutritious dressings and toppings. Such additions can not only add flavour and interest to a meal, salad or snack but also boost the nutrient content. Having a bunch of delicious dressing or topping ideas (up your sleeve) is helpful – a simple dressing or nut/seed sprinkle can turn a simple salad into quite a fabulously fancy one. We created several dressings and toppings (sweet and savoury) to enjoy at lunch.

Mindset Workshop: The 7 types of Recharge

Rosie took us through the 7 types of rest, which provide us with 7 different opportunities for recharge. We learnt about where our energy can be depleted, and how some simple strategic hacks can help us recharge.

‘You time’:

Time for all guests. Time to soak up Lapito, to journal, to reflect, to puzzle, to sip tea.

Yoga:

What better way to bring this all together, than to be led through a gentle yoga flow + yin class in these beautiful surroundings. We had Mel Gush provide a wonderful glass.

Nourishment:

We enjoyed morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea carefully crafted and prepared by Lara and a talented Chef. The delicious, nourishing menu is always worth the drive in itself!

Day 2: Sunday Oct 22nd, 2023

Nature & Hiking:

We started our day with refreshments then enjoy a stunning walk through the property of Lapito, across the creek and onto a narrow track from which there are pretty special views. At halfway point, we ended up on a grassy hill taking in the rolling hills of Lapito House from afar.

Nutrition Workshop: Sweet Hits

Lara led a fun workshop which focused on simple and delicious ideas for when you need a ‘sweet hit’. She is supportive of us all enjoying sweet things regularly such as chocolate, ice-cream and decadent cake – such things bring joy and should be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet.. Life is too short not to! But, it can be helpful to have ideas for especially nutritious sweet snacks and desserts, for us individuals and for our families to enjoy regularly. Together we played and created an array of delicious sweet things, to taste and enjoy at afternoon tea.

Mindset Workshop: Goal achieving

Rosie took us through a workshop to help us not just set, but achieve our goals. Whether it be a goal of making a simple new habit stick, or running a marathon, this workshop helped us all learn methods to achieve.

‘You time’:

After lunch, we had the chance to pause, reflect and reset. Rosie set us up with some journaling and goal setting prompts also, for those interested.

Yoga:

What better way to bring this all together, than to be led through a gentle yoga flow + yin class in these beautiful surroundings. Sophie Gray provided us with a superb class.

Nourishment:

We enjoyed morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea carefully crafted and prepared by Lara and a talented Chef. Some of our morning and afternoon tea snacks were prepared by ourselves on the day as part of one of our workshops.

2022 October Reset Days

Below is a summary of our 2022 October day retreats. Photos from all four day retreats and one from last year can be found on Facebook here.

These special days were hosted by Rosie Dunstan (Mindset Coach) and Lara (Dietitian & Nutritionist) at Lapito House, a beautifully renovated farmhouse set amongst the rolling hills of Myponga, South Australia.

The days differed but both included:

– Nature & Hiking

– Mindset & Nutrition

– Delicious Food

– Yoga & Meditation

Saturday Oct 22nd, 2022 – The Ripple Effect & Lunch/Dinner Ideas

Nature & Hiking

One of the simplest gifts we can give ourselves is to spend time in nature. We start our day with morning tea on the beautiful Lapito House deck, followed by a walk through the picturesque postcard worthy rolling hills of Lapito and onto the Heysen Trail. We’ll be pausing at a stunning lookout along the way and if we have time we’ll reach a waterfall. We may even spot Albert or Annie (Lapito’s resident echidnas). It takes ~60-90mins, there are some hills, so it’s good for getting the heart rate up a little, but it is by no means difficult. There are options here, such as for those carrying an injury or who are pregnant.

Nutrition Workshop: Lunch/ Dinner Ideas

Lara will be leading a fun creative nutrition and cooking workshop where guests will be involved in preparing a few lunch dishes using flexible ‘formulas’. Guests will be able to take these formulas with them to try at home. For lunch we’ll be sitting down to share and enjoy our creations, with chef-prepared dishes also on offer.

Mindset Workshop: The Ripple Effect

Rosie will take us through how we can tap into the ripple effect of making constructive changes to our habits and routines. She’ll guide us through some approaches to embed the changes we are striving for, before giving us time to pause, reflect, and set intentions in the beautiful backdrop of Lapito House.

‘You time’

Time for you. Time to soak up Lapito, to journal, to reflect, to puzzle, to sip tea. For those that would like some guidance, Rosie will have journaling and reflection exercises available for if you wish.

Yoga

What better way to bring this all together, than to be led through a gentle yoga flow + yin class in these beautiful surroundings. Yes please.

Nourishment

We will enjoy morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea carefully crafted and prepared by Lara and a talented Chef. Some of our lunch will be created by our hosts and guests on the day as part of one of our workshops. Tea, coffee and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day. The delicious, nourishing menu is worth the drive in itself.

Sunday Oct 23rd, 2022 – Review, Reframe, Resilience & Satisfying Snacks

Nature & Hiking

We start our day with refreshments then enjoy a stunning walk through the property of Lapito, across the creek and onto a narrow track from which there are pretty special views. At halfway point, we will end up on a grassy hill taking in the rolling hills of Lapito House from afar. There are options here, such as for those carrying an injury or who are pregnant.

Nutrition Workshop: Satisfying Snacks

Lara will be leading a creative cooking workshop again, but this time we’ll be making snacks. Guests will be involved in preparing a few different snacks, both savoury and sweet, using flexible ‘formulas’. Guests will be able to hang on to the versatile and fun ‘formulas’ to use and enjoy at home.

Mindset Workshop: Review Reframe Resilience

Rosie will take us through a workshop to help navigate high stress and high expectation environments, where we will learn concepts such as mindfulness, reframing, and how to bring it into our daily routines.

‘You time’

After lunch, we will have the chance to pause, reflect and reset. Rosie will have journaling and goal setting prompts for those who are interested. Or, simply enjoy sipping tea, perhaps work on the jigsaw puzzle and generally just soak up the peace and tranquility of Lapito House.

Yoga

What better way to bring this all together, than to be led through a gentle yoga flow + yin class in these beautiful surroundings. Yes please.

Nourishment

We will enjoy morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea carefully crafted and prepared by Lara and a talented Chef. Some of our morning and afternoon tea snacks will be prepared by ourselves on the day as part of one of our workshops. Tea, coffee and cold refreshments will be available throughout the day. The delicious, nourishing menu is worth the drive in itself.

There were options here, such as for those carrying an injury, or who were pregnant.
