This pasta dish is one I often throw together for dinner, each time with slightly different greens (usually whatever I have in fridge). It always, always satisfies and is truly so easy. Just a nice quick dinner idea.
These have become a regular snack (especially for morning tea, enjoyed with and dunked into a creamy coffee – I seriously recommend this). They’re easy to make, decadently chocolately, keep really well for a week and no blender (and therefore no cleaning of the blender) is required (yesss).
To make these..
Flourless chocolate cake has always been a favourite amongst the family. I’ve made several versions of this cake (often with raspberries or mixed berries, sometimes with olive oil instead of butter) but this recipe is by far the easiest and always works well. With cherries and a little spice it’s a beautiful dessert for this festive time of year. I love using a mix of hazelnut and almond meal as it gives this cake a subtle hazelnut flavour that reminds me of the chocolate hazelnut Swiss Christmas biscuits my mum makes. However using either almond or hazelnut meal is just as nice.
At this time of year, a delicious, creamy and refreshing smoothie can be hard to resist! Every cafe appears to have a few pretty amazing concoctions on offer. But, it’s also nice to make your own at home as this allows you to create a flavour, texture and thickness that you love. I’ve finally started to make a lot more smoothies at home (yes, a little late I realise, we’re well into summer!).. and why? Well, apart from loving smoothies I recently bought us these nifty stainless steel straws (highly recommend!).
Creating a nice balance of flavour, sweetness and texture is really a matter of playing and experimenting but if you love smoothies, don’t make them often and are not sure where to start the below flexible recipe (which makes a nice amount for two) is easy and works every time. Sometimes I’ll make this amount, pour myself a glass or jar and store the rest in the fridge for the following day or I use leftover smoothie to make little ice-blocks – perfect for snacking and desserts.
